In bid to join the next lot of Parliamentarians, Geoffrey Lutaaya secretly, engaged the services of a private tutor to get his papers straight ahead.
According to Rev. Edison Nyanzi, the headmaster of Makerere Day and Evening Adult School, along Sir Apollo Road, the musician approached them for lesson because he claimed he had little time on him.
And so, twice a week, a tutor would sneak into Lutaaya’s home in Munyonyo and at his Durban Hotel in Najjanankumbi for some tutoring in English, Biology, Luganda, Mathematics, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, and Geography, CRE.
And when the Uganda Certificate of Education results were released on Thursday, celebrations at Makerere Day and Evening Adult School as well as Lutaaya’s hotel went well into the wee hours of the morning.
This is because the celebrated musician has scored Aggregate 62 – English 5, Biology 6, Luganda 5, Mathematics 9, Commerce 9, Physics 9, Chemistry 9, and Geography 9 and CRE 8.
“We are very pleased with Lutaaya’s performance since he was always not at school but managed to pass his exams,” Rev. Nyanzi told Watchdog, claiming that Lutaaya always had very little time for classes.
Lutaaya also intimated that he will join A-Level to acquire the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education, which is a major requirement to join Parliament.
Last year, the musician announced that he is ready to represent the people of Kakuuto County in Rakai District.
He joins other artistes such as Dr. Hilderman, Mikie Wine, Ronald Mayinja, Eddy Yawe, and Mathias Walukagga among others who have already announced their intention to contest in the next parliamentary polls.
