Comic artiste Alexandra Bagonza alias A Pass and Fik Fameica are currently jumping up with joy after receiving a nomination in Sound City MVP Awards for their song, Mid Night Drums.
The song which features South African female rapper Rouge and DJ Maphorisa was nominated as the Best African Video of the Year 2018, and in this collaboration.
In the category, Mid Night Drums is nominated alongside Gringo (Shattale Wale), Short and Sweet (Sauti Sol), Ye (Burna Bouy), Fever (Wiz Kid), Surrenda (Adukunle Gold), Science Student (Olamida), King (Nasty C), Heal the World (Patoranking), and Ksazobali (Cassper Nyovest).
Mid Night Drums project was largely financed by the Club Pilsener and it was worked on by a professional team from South Africa and Swangz Avenue, and it was shot in Kampala.
The award ceremony is happening on January 5, 2019 in Lagos Nigeria. Voting is done on Sound City MVP official website www.soundcitymvp.com.
The Sound City MVP Awards were introduced in 2016 and this is the second time Uganda is receiving a nomination.
Eddy Kenzo received the first nomination in 2016 following his collaboration with Nigerian singing diva Niniola on Mbiro Mbiro song, though he lost the honours to Nigerian Olamide.
