The government of Tanzania, through its regulatory body Baraza La Sanaa La Taifa (BASATA), has banned singers Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny from performing on any show in and out of the country indefinitely.
Rayvanny is signed under Wasafi Record Label owned by Diamond.
The ban came into effect after the singers defying the authority’s orders of not performing a dirty song known as ‘Mwanza’.
The song in question was performed last Sunday at the Wasafi Festival tour in Mwanza City.
According to Nairobinews.nation.co.ke, Basata stated it had no choice but to take stern action on the musicians for continuing to disregard and disrespecting the board’s position on the song.
Basata had last month banned ‘Mwanza’ from air play in Tanzania and also directed the musicians to pull it down from various online platforms.
It also advised the singers not to perform the song at any gathering in Tanzania.
