December is hard! Apart from Chameleone’s Legend SabaSaba, most of the shows/festivals/concerts have flopped.
The latest in mind is Fik Fameica’s ‘My Journey Concert’ that garnered only 200 revellers, including service providers as well as the ‘Ice Cream Festival’, ‘Blankets and Wine’ among other December shows, that have flopped. Now, the Melanin Concert that was to be headlined by Pato Ranking and Sauti Sol has been called off to avoid another loss.
The show was set to happen on 21 December at Lugogo Cricket Oval and Nigerian dance-hall star Pato Ranking and Kenya’s Afro Beat group Sauti Sol had already confirmed their attendance.
Next Radio, the main concert organizers, on Monday released a notice confirming that this show has been cancelled and postponed till further notice, but they didn’t state reasons.
Since this Melanin concert was advertised just three weeks to the show, social media alleged that their is no way it can pull a big crowd because few people knew about it, and since people are currently saving for Christmas, their is no way it couldn’t suffer ‘My Journey’ fate.
