“What a life!!!!!!! It had been over two years since I had last seen her. She comes last Thursday for what we did not know was the last comedy show she will e
ver see in this earthly life. She gave me a good hug and said ‘mukyala munange ngombulako nyo?’. It’s a lot to take in”
That was part of comedienne Veronica Namanda’s emotional eulogy to Sera Kiraka, one of the victims of the ill-fated MV Templa tragedy that claimed the lives of a yet to be known number of passengers last Saturday.
Kiraka was the wife of Frobisher Lwanga, a member of Fun Factory, a sketch comedy outfit.
Fun Factory holds weekly comedy shows at the National Theatre. This Thursday, however, there will be no show as they mourn with their brother and other friends and relatives of the tragic accident.
“Our hearts are with all our brother and sisters that lost their loved ones in the boat accident over the weekend. We send our deepest heartfelt condolences and [ray that you find the strength t steer through the hard time,” a statement from Fun Factory management reads.
“….fun factory declares this a mourning week for our own and everyone who lost their lives.
The statement however, says they will resume normal service next Thursday, December 6.
Sera, who was buried on Tuesday, left behind two children – Franchesca and Freiser.
