Uganda-South Africa based Rich Gang members have disowned Patrick Agaba alias Pato who was on Wednesday arrested in connection with the murder of an accountant Susan Magara.

Yesterday, a local tabloid claimed that Pato belonged to Rich Gang and that he was a cousin to Magara.

However, the group has come out to clarify, saying Pato has never been a member of the group.

“Rich Gang would like to inform the general public that Pato is not part of Rich gang and has never been a member,” a statement released from the group reads in part.

The group further distanced themselves from acts of aggression saying, “We condemn such barbaric acts of violence that were done to a young soul.”

Pato was arrested from South Africa where he had fled with what security claims to be ransom money obtained from the Magara family.

Before being, murdered, Magara’s kidnappers were paid a ransom of shs700 million.
