Socialite Bryan White could walk away scot-free very soon and have charges of attempted murder on him dropped if court proceedings continue this way.
In the most recent hearing of the case at the Makindye Magistrate’s court presided over by Magistrate Erias Kakoza earlier this week, the file case was no where to be seen.
According to State Prosecutor handling the case, the file was missing having been returned back to the Investigation Officer to have the charges amended, unfortunately the Prosecutor said the file had not yet been returned by court time.
The prosecutor claimed to have no definite answer as to why the file had not yet been handed back to court officials as would be the case in normal circumstances.
The attempted murder case according to prosecution is alleged to have been committed on the 13th of December 2017 in Munyonyo Makindye division a Kampala suburb by Bryan White real names Kirumira Brian and his bodyguard Kenneth Okot. The later shot at a one Victor Bitwiire who is Bryan White’s neighbor injuring him seriously and having him bed ridden for a while.
This according to reports from previous court appearances prevented Bitwiire from being in the court during the mention and hearing of the case. Sources privy to the going ons behind the scenes in this case however have revealed that there seems to have been a settlement outside court between the suspects and the agrieeved party facilitated by a now deposed senior police officer who has since quietly left the country.
Bitwiire who is supposed to be the prime witness and aggrieved party in the case is also out of the country making the work of the prosecution to proceed nearly impossible. Our source says money to the tune of 100 million shillings plus could have changed hands as part of the settlement.
As a result the prosecution’s case is likely to be weakened beyond redemption and it will not be a shock if the case is dismissed in the near future due to lack of incriminating evidence soon.
