Uganda’s finest divas and longtime rivals Juliana Kanyomozi and Iryn Namubiru during weekend decided to make up after spending years in ‘hate mode’. The duo apparently cooked, laughed, and sang.
The ladies, both queens of the Ugandan music industry in their own right, were once great friends in their younger days, as karaoke singers at Sabrina’s Pub on Bombo Road. The two fell out over music competition in early 2000s.
After the day was over, Juliana wrote on her social media pages about the moments;
Thank you for having us today my love… @irynamubiru . I gave you a new title.. HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTESS ??. The food was amazing and I’ve not laughed this hard in a long time ??.. @laurakahunde and I will surely revenge ?.#sundaywellspent
Namubiru was equally elated by the re-union. She also posted on her wall the details what they did together;
Sunday well spent..with my main @julianakanyomozi ? cooking, laughing , singing and talking about you too.
?
? I can’t wait to do this again

While at Namasagali College in 1999, Iryn Namubiru joined Juliana, and together they formed the R&B all-girl group called I-Jay and in 2000, they released their first single which got ‘moderate’ air play on radio stations in Uganda. Unfortunately, soon after the release of their record, Iryn left for France and the group disbanded.
