This afternoon, various artistes began their ‘walk of sweat’ ready to win shs100 million cash prize in the Kadongokamu operation wealth creation singing competition.
The competition has been officially launched at the Pope Paul Memorial Centre Rubaga by the minister without Portfolio Al-hajj Abdul Nadduli.
Artists like Willyy Mukabya, Fred Sebatta, and Mathias Walukaaga among others started the quest as they performed various songs to boost up the crowds.
The Executive Director for NAADS Dr. Samuel K. Mugasi urged all Ugandans to understand the value of Kadongo Kamu music since it is the heart of Ugandan music.
“Kadongo Kamu is the origin of the Ugandan Music. So I believe we must appreciate it” Said Dr. Mugasi.
On Agriculture, Dr Mugasi emphasized the relevancy of every Ugandan to practically get involved in the system.
It is on this note that he thanked the head of the project Gen. Salim Saleh for the good initiative towards pulling Ugandans out of poverty.
Nadduli who seemed to be excited about the event urged musicians to perform to their best .
“Music is a good way of passing on information”. Said Nadduli.
Artistes are expected to compose good songs which are agricultural themed and out of all the songs, one favourite will be named best thus enabling the artiste walk away with shs100 million.
According to the NRM baseline citizens assessment of the NRM’s first year 2017, the issue of agriculture is highly emphasized where farmers along the four acre model concept shall be assisted.
The baseline goes ahead to indicate the western region, having the highest numbers of crops,livestock and other agricultural enterprises.
