Put singer turned politician Bobi Wine who recently won Kyadondo East Parliamentary seat aside, Kenya’s popular musician Charles Njagua popularly known as Jaguar has scooped Starehe Constituency Parliamentary seat following a general election in Kenya on Tuesday.
Jaguar from the Jubilee Party bagged 52,132 votes compared to ODM candidate Steve Mbogo who got 32,357 votes.
He becomes the first Kenyan musician to join Parliament.
Jaguar was widely-highlighted by the media during the April Jubilee Party nominations when he trounced veteran politician Maina Kamanda after a successful petition against the latter. Kamanda had fraudulently climbed to the top of the tally and was even announced the winner.
The ‘Kigeugeu’ star took to his social media handles to announce the well-deserved win soon after it was clear he had clinched the Starehe seat. He thanked the people of Starehe for their confidence in him.
“God is good, all the time. Still counting..” the ‘Warrior’ Jaguar said.
