The deal was to sneak in and out. The deal was to make it as quiet as possible. Unfortunately for watchers, the deal was to tell the story.
A story hushed.
So we reveal the deal.
Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o and her other celebrity friends somehow turned up in Uganda, unexpectedly, to support Madina Nalwanga.
Nalwanga ‘is’ Phoebe Mutesi in ‘Queen of Katwe’, the Disney-produced movie about a girl from the slums of Katwe who goes on to conquer the world, winning every chess title there is.
Well, figuratively.
Nalwanga, a Forbes ’30under30′ 2018 honoree was also part of the talented cast of performing artistes who took part in Alex Mukulu’s come back musical as MTN celebrated 20 years in Uganda.
After the Kololo fête, the two Hollywood stars visited ‘Muwala Kyuka’.
Muwala Kyuka is a pilot apprenticeship education programme started by single mums and girls at Sosolya Undugu Family Dance Academy.
The other deal is, Nalwanga is one of the funders.
Only the sky can limit Nalwanga’s goals.
