Last week, a total of 1950 eye patients were screened and 195 surgeries were done during a three day eye Camp in Luwero District.
The camp was organized by Icare Foundation working in association with the Uganda Ophthalmology Society and the North Indian Cultural Association and it kicked off on Friday and ended on Sunday at Luwero Health Center IV under the theme ‘Your Eyesight is our Insight’.
A medical team of four senior ophthalmologists and 10 doctors successfully screened and operated the eye patients.
Besides treating eye patients, the team also offered diabetes and hypertension screening to walk in individuals as well as sensitized on how to prevent and deal with different eye diseases.
