Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has banned Princess cream today that it contains hydroquinone which causes cancer.
Doris Akol, URA Executive Director says that the cosmetic manufacturers use illegal chemicals yet this destroys the consumers.
“We are going to fight tooth and nail to capture all entrepreneurs who sell these cosmetics to the people because it’s our responsibility,” Akol said.
After URA banning cosmetics that are usually smuggled in the country through its program of URA cares, it has come to URA’s notice that princess cream causes cancer.
Uganda records say that cancer is on a rapid increase in the country and this is one of the reasons.
Cancer patients are suffering yet many of them can’t afford to pay for treatment.
