Every sexually active man in Uganda is entitled to only seven condoms a year, reveals Uganda Cares, an organization working with people living with HIV/aids.
This means, to effectively avoid getting sexually transmitted diseases or unwanted pregnancies, an active man should have sex only seven times in a year.
Uganda Cares expressed the concerns that few condoms in the country expose citizens to dangerous STDs including HIV/Aids.
Access to condoms has helped in Uganda’s battle against HIV but there’s still need to reduce new infections.
An average man in Uganda at least has 12 sexual encounters a year, which leaves five encounters without protection.
Uganda Cares calls upon the government to import more condoms to secure lives of its citizens.
