It was an emotional send off for the fallen East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Hafsa Mossi, the Burundian member of the regional Assembly.

Mossi was assassinated at her home in eastern Mutanga, Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi.

Ugandan EALA member Mike Sebalu said he was not mourning Mossi, but, celebrating her life.

“I will not mourn, but celebrate Hafsa Mossi’s life. She has lived a short but full life. She played her part, and played it well,” he said.

Mossi was elected a member of EALA in June 2012. She formerly worked as a producer and journalist with BBC.
