On Monday during the 24th Kabaka coronation ceremony at Buwekula, Kasanda South Member of Parliament Simeo Nsubga got an embarrassment of his life when a journalist identified as William Ntege popularly known as Kyuma kya Yesu physically attacked him over advocating for the removal of age limit.

Simeo was rescued by Rubaga South MP Kato Lubwama who tried to block Ntege from further attacking the legislator in front of the Buganda King.

In the due process, Ntege was arrested and currently he is being detained at Mubende Police Station.

Today, political activists from the Democratic Party (DP) have paid a visit to incarcerated Ntege to see how he is doing as well as to forge a way forward to see him released.

He has been detained for more than 48 hours without charges which is against the law.

Meanwhile a section of opposition members led by Dr. Kizza Besigye’s aide Ronald Muhinda have set up a fundraise drive to raise money to cater for Ntege’s legal fees.

On Tuesday, Simeo told journalists that he had forgiven Ntege but needed him to admit that he was hired by the opposition members to intimidate him.
