South Sudan has been identified as the major source of ammunitions used by assailants to terrorize the Acholi sub region.
Yesterday police confirmed the arrest of 15 people and recovered three guns that have been used by assailants to rob and kill people in this area.
According to the police spokesperson, Andrew Felix Kaweesi, most of the guns that are used to kill people are ferried from the neighbouring South Sudan and sold at cheap prices.
However Kaweesi is hopeful thay the illegal entry of fire arms in Uganda will soon stop since the Uganda police force managed to reach an agreement with South Sudan National police service to address insecurity issues across the border of the two countries.
