A stitch in time saves nine they say. This particular though saved the whole nation after President Yoweri  Museveni availed a chartered flight for the Cranes for the away Afcon qualifying game against Lesotho in Maseru. He added the team an  additional Shs200,000,000.
The President who was meeting the Cranes squad on Tuesday night at State House, Entebbe  used the meeting to congratulate the squad for the good performances sofar but also encouraged them to qualify for Cameron 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
“I have been following the results and I must say you have been doing well. The government will always support sports in the country and I hope the good results continue,” President Museveni said.
The Cranes were led by a delegation from FUFA which included Mr Justus Mugisha and C.E.O Edgar Watson.
Uganda top group L on four points and must win at home against Lesotho on Saturday to better their chances of making a second straight AFCON appearance.
