Cranes’ new kit bonds with the colours of the nation – Magogo

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) finally announced the winner for the Cranes kit design competition. The competition was launched prior to the Cranes’ second appearance at Afcon in 2017. Umar Mukasa’s design, according to Fufa, stood out among thousands of designs the Federation received in a competition Rogers Byamukama, the Fufa Marketing committee chairman and and Esther Musoke, the Fufa Marketing Director).

Mukasa’s design is what kit manufacturer Mafro used to produce the latest kit to be worn by the national senior team men- The Uganda Cranes and Women-Crested Cranes. Mukasa is a graphics designer.
While unveiling the new kit Fufa boss Eng. Moses Magogo explained that of all the designs handed in, Umar Mukasa’s piece bonded with the colours of the nation.

“I believe this kit is fitting for the national teams. The manufacturer for the Uganda Cranes new kit is Mafro. We would like to thank the manufacturer for the work well done. We are in very close talks with the kit sponsor,” Magogo said at Nambole. “This is another occasion that we come here to complete what we promised.”

The home kit is predominantly red with a horn like design embedded with the national colours running down the front. The other jerseys – White and Yellow – follow the same style and will will be used on away matches.
Meanwhile, Mukasa wins himself Shs2.5m and access to all home Cranes games at Namboole.
The Cranes will wear the kit beginning with the Afcon 2019 qualifier against Lesotho on Saturday at Namboole.
