The Constitutional Court has stopped the trial of Nakawa MP Michael Kabaziguruka at the military court commonly referred to as the General Court Martial.

Justice Remmy Kyonooneka Kasule granted Kabaziguruka plea that he should not be tried at the military court in Makindye. The military court is a court set to try serving soldiers not civilians like Kabaziguruka.

Kabaziguruka who was arrested at the beginning of this term as MP faces charges of treason. He is accused alongside several soldiers of attempting to overthrow Museveni’s government.
