The director of parliament communications, Chris Obore has defended the huge expenditure of Parliament saying it’s paramount for members of Parliament to have whatever previleges they are entitled to.
“If people want a functioning parliament, it will need huge amounts of funds because clear oversight and the need of good service delivery is expensive,” he said on a local television.
Obore said people who continue to say MPs have done nothing, were just ignorant of how democracy works.
He explained that if MPs have done nothing, then they needed more money to facilitate their services to meet the expectations of the voters.
