The Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, officially opened the 3rd Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Conference yesterday afternoon at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
“This gathering is a testament to our collective determination to build on the successes of previous health promotion conferences and to address emerging challenges with innovative approaches. We recognize the crucial role that Community Health Workers (CHWs) play in this mission,” Nabbanja emphasized during her speech.
Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, Uganda’s Minister of Health, highlighted that the conference is focused on exploring innovative strategies, digital transformations, and effective partnerships to strengthen health systems. These strategies aim to improve disease prevention and health promotion across the country.
The conference also serves as a platform to celebrate Uganda’s 50 years of dedicated immunization services, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s public health journey.
The event was organized under the theme “Building Resilient Health Systems for Disease Prevention through Strengthening Health Workers.”
