The treason case against former presidential candidate, Dr Kizza Besigye has been adjourned to 16th November.
Besigye appeared before the Nakawa chief Magistrate court today morning amidst tight security for the treason charges leveled against him.
The state prosecution led by Deborah Etawu, asked the Nakawa chief Magistrate Lilian Bukyana for more time to carry out further investigations. Once the state conclude it’s investigations, Besigye will be committed to high court to stand trial at the next convenient criminal session.
Besigye is accused of swearing himself in as the president of Uganda in the video which went viral on the social media following the disputed general elections where President Museveni emerged winner.
Besigye shot the video on 11 May 2016 on the eve when Museveni was swearing in for the fifth term in office.
