Besigye, Muntu in Ghana witnessing inaugural ceremony of newly elected president

Former Forum for Democratic Change( FDC) presidential candidate,  Dr Kizza Besigye and party president Mugisha Muntu are in Accra, Ghana witnessing Ghana’s newly elected President Nana Akufo- Addo taking an oath.

Besigye was invited by Ghana to represent Uganda during the inauguration ceremony.

The four time presidential elections loser said  Akufo’s inauguration is a celebration for the people of Africa because it’s unique that Ghana has been able to change governments and political parties in power and it happens democratically and peacefully.

The 72-year-old former human rights lawyer and two time presidential election loser is taking  the oath of office at a ceremony in Independence Square in central Accra before more than 6,000 guests and members of the public.

11 heads of state from across Africa are attending, as well as the outgoing president, and former leaders John Rawlings and John Kufuor.
