Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have earmarked
Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho as their number one transfer target next summer.
The Catalan club are plotting
to form a deadly attack force around Neymar and Coutinho,
who have been impressive at the international level for
Brazil this year.
According to Spanish publication SPORT, the 23-year-old has what it takes to fit into Barca’s style of play, especially
due to the presence of his childhood friend Neymar, who
recently committed his future at the club. The newspaper
describes the wonderkid as someone who possess the
‘Barcelona DNA’ in his playing style.
Coutinho could become the second player to move from
Anfield to Nou Camp since Luis Suarez’s departure. The
Uruguayan joined the La Liga champions in 2014 after
missing on the title race by a whisker under former
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.
This season, Coutinho has been on the rise under new
manager Jurgen Klopp. He has already scored five goals
and provided five assists in 11 league appearances for the
Merseyside club.
