Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has revealed that he has impeccable information that the government has recruited priests as spies.
In his Easter homily at Rubaga cathedral on Easter Sunday Dr Lwanga expounded on his Good Friday message when he accused the government of trying to frame him as planning insecurity in the country.
Lwanga warned President Museveni that people who give him wrong information will lead to his downfall.
The archbishop said he received information from a reformed government spy saying priests and catechists had been recruited to spy on church people. He explained that recently a priest died and government officers revealed he was working with them in espionage and even possessed a gun.
The archbishop said he was going to institute mechanism to screen his clergy. He called his men to renounce Espionage which he blamed on greed for money or other favours.
