The anti corruption activists have applauded the Judiciary for the judgement yesterday that saw three former public service officials convicted for embezzling shs 88.2 billion in pension fund.

This comes after the anti corruption court on Friday found the former permanent secretary Jimmy Lwamafa, former principal accountant Chris Obey and former public service director for research and development Steven Kunsa Kiwanuka guilty of causing government a financial loss and misuse of office.

The trio were handed seven years,10 years and five years prison terms respectively and were ordered to refund shs50 billion to government.

The Executive Director of Anti corruption coalition, Cissy Kagaba says the ruling should serve as a lesson to the corrupt leaders. Further asking the anti corruption court to quickly dispose off the pending cases.
