The army reshuffle is still on going hardly a week after President Museveni appointed David Muhoozi to replace Gen Katumba Wamala as chief of defense forces.
In this morning reshuffle, army spokesman Paddy Ankunda has been relieved of his duties and replaced by a brigadier. It’s the first time a general is heading this department. In charges, Brig Nalweyiso who works in State House has been promoted to Major General making her the highest ranking woman officer in the entire East Africa.
Maj Gen Nakibus Lakara has been appointed the Commander Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Center.
Brig George Igumba, who has been the deputy Commandant of Senior Command and Staff College, is appointed the Chief of Personnel and Administration of the UPDF.
Col Chris Bossa, who has been the Course Coordinator at Senior Command and Staff College – Kimaka, is promoted to the rank of Brigadier and appointed the deputy Commandant of the same College.
Col Patrick Mwesigye, who has been at National Leadership Institute – Kyankwanzi, is appointed head of the Patriotic Secretariat.
Brig Sam Kavuma, who has been the 5 Division Commander, is appointed the deputy Commander Air forces.
Col Michael Kabango, who has been the Defence Attaché to Somalia, is promoted to the rank of Brigadier and appointed the 5division Commander.
Brig Richard Karemire, who has been the Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence, is appointed the Military Spokesman.
Brig Paul Lokech, who has been a Defence Attaché to Russia, is appointed the 2 Division Commander to replace Peter Elwelu who was promoted to Commander Lands forces.
Col Henry Matsiko, who has been the heading the Patriotic Secretariat, is promoted to the rank of Brig and appointed the Chief Political Commissar of the UPDF.
Brig Proscovia Nalweyiso who works in State House has been promoted to the rank of Major General.
