Boxers from the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom are stranded as they do not have any food or upkeep to maintain them in the ongoing Juniors boxing championship.

The championship that is going on at the MTN Arena Lugogo, started on early this Monday, where young boxers from the age of 15 compete for different tittles.

The stranded young boxers are Richard Mugisha [a senior two student at premier ss Hoima], Muhumuza Pius, Kisembo Michael [a student at Kitara ss Hoima], Alikanjelo Barongo [a senior two student at Mandela ss Hoima], and Alinda Martin together with their coach Goha Juma.

Coach Goha says that the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom expressed interest in the games since it was one of the key ways of promoting the Kingdom. Here they had to come up with the Kingdom club named Bunyoro Kitara Boxing club.

To his dismay, Coach Goha said that by the time they left, the kingdom sports minister Baguma John was nowhere to be seen. Up to now he has not released a single penny.

“I had only Shs50, 000 with me but I had to spend it to transport the players” Goha said.

Coach Goha elucidates that the Uganda Boxing Federation tried to help them in terms of accommodation through the former president Godfrey Nyakaana.

He added that only the Kingdom driver Yasin managed to send them Shs 30,000 that up to date they have a debt of over 100,000 since Monday.
