Speaking on an occasion to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the historical expedition to Uganda by the duke of Italy, the ambassador of Italy in Uganda, Demenico Fornara said the expedition that involved two Italian military officers and four ugandan armed officers was a starting point to promote Uganda’s tourism potential in Italy.
He said it was a great milestone that will further strengthen cooperation between Uganda and Italy.
“Uganda has enormous potential in tourism, it is the only country in the world where in one weeks time you can see gorillas, lions and also climb a 5000 metres peak. There’s no other country that can do this, I think it’s great for tourism and its an initiative in which we can build a positive cooperation between Uganda and Italy,” said Fornara.
