The government of Uganda is trying as much as possible to sketch for new ways on how it can create more tourist attractions which play a vital role in the development of the country.
Now the government is in plans to turn former presidents Apollo Milton Obote , Idi Amin Dada’s ancestral homes into tourist sites. The homes in question are located in Koboko in West Nile (for Amin) and Akokoro village in Lira district (for Obote).
According to the state minister for tourism, Godfrey Kiwanda, if the ancestral homes are changed into tourist sites, they will boost tourism.
In August this year, Kiwanda officially launched ‘Rolex ‘as a tourist attraction. A ‘Rolex’ is a traditional delicacy of Ugandan origin that started out as a road side snack made of eggs and chapatti.
