At least ten health workers attached to Kabale regional referral Hospital have been put under quarantine after getting in to contact with a Covid-19 patient.
The health workers allegedly got in touch with the patient, attempting to treat him before it was discovered that he was a Covid-19 patient.
Other sixty six patients, who were in the medical ward with the Covid-19 patients unknowingly at the hospital, have also been quarantined.
Alfred Besigensi, the Acting Kabale District Health officer confirmed to our reporter on Saturday morning that all the patients in the Medical ward at the hospital where the covid-patient was admitted, including those that had been discharged have been recalled and put under quarantine.
Kabale district recorded her first community Covid-19 case of a 56-year old man who travelled from Kampala to Nyakijumba -Kabale Municipality in Kabale district.
The patient had been admitted at Kabale Regional Referral hospital on Sunday with high temperature and headache.
According to Besigensi ,the health workers suspected him of Covid-19 and the samples were drawn from him and taken to the Uganda Virus Research Institute until his results turned positive on Thursday evening.
Other six members of his family have also been put under quarantine.
