Ugandan billionaire Dr Sudhir Ruparelia has on Tuesday presented his credentials to Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the first Honorary Consul of the Republic of Nepal to Uganda. He was received by Uganda’s Foreign Affairs minister Mr Sam Kutesa.
The new consul afterwards opened the Nepal Consulate at his Crane Chambers located along Kampala road, which gives the consulate a premier and accessible location.
The launch was attended by H.E Jhabindra Aryal , Ambassador E&P, Embassy of Nepal, in Cairo Egypt.
The Tuesday shall be crowned with a cocktail party at Kabira Country Club in Bukoto to celebrate the milestone.
Dr Sudhir was appointed to the position by Bidhya Devi Bhandari, the Nepalese president last month and he is expected to use his experience and connections to grow ties between Uganda and Nepal. Mr Ruparelia has already promised to strengthen economic and political ties between the two countries.
