On Wednesday evening, news broke the internet that singer Puis Mayanja aka Pallaso was brutally beaten and stabbed almost to death during a xenophobia attack in South Africa.
In a video shared by Pallaso on social media, the singer stated that he had traveled to South Africa to perform and shoot his new music video, but unfortunately he got an attack from people who seemed to be protesting.
“They beat me up real bad and I fell down, I was stabbed. As I was trying to run I got hit by a car, I tried to ask for help from the car owner but instead he just drove off. I then started running with people chasing me with machetes, they pulled my hair and beat me up. Xenophobia is real,” Pallaso stated.
He further claimed that he doesn’t know if his friend Fred Kiwuwa, who he was travelling with is still alive for they took separate routes after the attack.
But on Thursday, Pallaso’s brother Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone confirmed that South African High Commission came to Pallaso’s rescue and currently he is in good hands.
However he condemned this act for it brings disunity among Africans, and advised South Africans to check on their actions.
“Thanks Ugandans worldwide most especially the South African Ugandan Community. Pallaso was rescued at all odds, but all this must be condemned as we are all Africans. If we move in unity same way always we shall be free. Bro come back home now, God took control and he will always- Chameleone.
