The Danish Government is committed to supporting the government of Uganda in its development progammes aiming at transforming agriculture.
This was revealed on Sunday afternoon by the Danish deputy ambassador to Uganda Henrik Jespersen as he was commissioning the first Ware House Store in Mubende at Aponye Agriculture Products collection center in Mubende Town under the Danish Agri Business Initiative.
Under this project the farmers in the districts of Mubende, Mityana, Kyegegwa, Kakumiro, Ssembabule and Gomba shall have an alternative of stocking the products in this ware house and receives receipts as the wait for prices to rise which will also be used in the banks as loan security.
Ambassador Henrick said the Danish Embassy has been supporting agricultural programmes in Uganda for over ten years and will continue with the same, to have Ugandan Farmers improve on quality production and reduce on the loses they incur due to poor markets.
The Aponye Mubende Regional manager Apollo Ntegemeha said since they started their operations in Mubende many farmers have benefited in this project, and encouraged farmers always to aim at quality of their Produces.
