The Uganda Sand Cranes is currently in residential training at Fufa technical center in Njeru Jinja in daily two training sessions in preparation for the Copa-Dar Salaam Beach soccer tournament slated for 20th to 26th December 2019 in Tanzania.
Uganda shall be participating for the third consecutive time with last year’s best performance when the Sand Cranes lost 1-2 to Tanzania the hosts.
Seven countries of Malawi,Burundi,Kenya, Seychelles,Mozambique, Uganda and Tanzania the hosts shall take part after the withdraw of Libya.
Deo Mutabazi the chairman of the Uganda Beach Soccer Association told Watchdog Uganda that the tournament shall be a good build up for Uganda to prepare for Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations that shall be hosted by Uganda next year from late November to early December.
The team shall flag off on Wednesday 18th December 2019.
“ Last year we lost on the final now we are more prepared, we want to win this tournament this time to work as our Christmas present”, Said Bashir Mutyaba the Uganda Beach Soccer Technical Director.
