KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi has dedicated the November Coach of the Month accolade to his players.
Mutebi was on Monday announced the best coach of the month of November at the expense of Vipers SC’s Edward Golola.
The gaffer, who began the month with a 4-1 away loss against Paradou AC in the Caf Confederations Cup, transferred the hunger to the local Uganda premier League, winning five of the seven league matches. He drew one and lost one, scoring 18 goals and conceding eight in the process.
These wins included 3-2 (Police) 1-3 (Express FC), 1-0 (Vipers SC) 5-2 (Kyetume FC) and 4-1 (SC Villa).
Although Golola, who won the October gong, guided Vipers to the same number of wins in five matches, his team’s 0-1 loss to KCCA seems to have denied him the accolade in addition to the scoring rate of his team.
In all Vipers’ November matches, the team scored six goals and conceded once.
“I dedicate this achievement to the boys that I coach. They have shown character and worked hard and tried to do perfectly as demanded of them. I thank them for the commitment,” he said.
Also, Maroons FC striker Steven Mukwala edged out KCCA FC stars Sam Ssenyonjo and Allan Okello to the November Player of the Month.
The league top scorer with 10 goals, scored seven goals in November and was ‘Man of the Match’ on two occasions – against Police FC and Wakiso Giants FC
Both winners received Shs1m.
