The Ruparelia Foundation has today Friday, December 6, 2019 started constructing a sanitation facility in Kamwokya slums, a city suburb.
The Foundation has started with constructing a toilet at Good Samaritan Primary School.
As promised, the money for setting up the sanitation facilities are proceeds from the Royal Ascot Goat Races that took place on October 12, 2019.
The cause is aimed at improving the sanitation in the slums of Kampala and Kamwokya is in the spotlight of national and international eye as its most prominent son popstar Bobi Wine (Robert Kyagulanyi) rose to political stardom. The state of sanitation is wanting in the Kamwokya ghetto as Ruparelia Foundation support is handy.
At this year’s Goat Races, Ruparelia Group managing director, Rajiv Ruparelia said, “The Goat Races are more than just another event in Uganda, it’s a place where people can come and network and mix along with business, pleasure and have a fun humorous time with good food and drinks all day long.”
The event that takes place at Speke Resort Munyonyo was this year indeed bigger and better with its unique sporty-fashion and picnic vibe for revellers.
Several companies sponsor this goat races which is indeed Kampala’s top fun and networking arena as foods, drinks, and music flow.
The highly attended Ascot royal goat races were graced by stylish and classy party goers including deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah, regular socialites such as Judith Heard, diplomats, politicians, businessmen etc who dressed to kill. The Ruparelia family organise the event and proceeds are donated for a charity cause.
