At the beginning of the year, we published an article citing some of the prophecies, Zoe Ministries leader Elvis Mbonye proclaimed. With a month left to end 2019, we refresh the prophecies Zoe leader made.
Prophet Mbonye’s followers say the preacher makes proclamations which come with utmost accuracy. In our article “Mbonye prophesies: Police woman to rise to prominence, DRC to prosper under new leader” (https://www.watchdoguganda.com/entertainment/lifestyle/20190103/58620/mbonye-prophesies-police-woman-to-rise-to-prominence-drc-to-prosper-under-new-leader.html) we noted the following; some have come to pass, some have not. Here we refresh;
Woman to rise to prominence in police
On December 31 crossover night Prophet Mbonye told his followers; “There is a lady in this nation. A lady in police I see shall emerge to prominence,” Mbonye told the cheering audience holding on to his sermon, word by word. “There shall be a lot of talk about her. After I have exalted her, I shall shake the foundation. For what I am doing has already started,” Mbonye said, before ending his session on prophecies.
This was interpreted to mean a woman would rise to a position of IGP.
Status tracker: This has not come to pass. IGP Martin Okoth Ochola is still Inspector General of Police and Gen Sabiti Muzeyi is his deputy.
East Africa to blossom in common markets
Prophet Mbonye said East African integration was going to blossom with its common markets and asked his followers to position themselves to take advantage of these opportunities.
Status tracker: there is nothing much positive to write about the East African integration. Instead, there is been trouble after trouble in the region. This year, Rwanda closed its borders with Uganda, and Burundi. There is been tension in the region has Rwanda threatened war with Uganda and indeed, Rwandan and Ugandan nationals have been shot dead by Rwanda security. Business people have lost billions of shillings as trade between Uganda and Rwanda has come a halt! In Kenya, the government there has also changed rules with the Mombasa port requiring goods to be cleared in Nairobi.
On the positive note maybe, Democractic Republic of Congo has applied to join the EAC customs union. May be this would be a good development in the future.
DRC to get a president to user country into new prosperous future
Prophet Mbonye said Democratic Republic of Congo will see a new leader that would bring about the transformation never witnessed before in that country. Mbonye said there will however, be attempts to ‘assassinate’ the new leader, but the plot will fail.
DR Congo will go on to prosper under the new leader.
Status tracker: President Félix Tshisekedi of DRC rose to power on 24 January 2019. He has since pursued peaceful resolutions to conflicts with political opponents. DRC has however experienced pockets of conflicts with rebels especially of ADF attacking townships and killing innocents civilians.
South African violence
Prophet Mbonye said South Africa will be engulfed in violence that will lead to deaths and displacement of people.
“It was election time in South Africa,” he said, “And there was panic… This was building up to be like something which happened in Kenya. It would be dark. I pray that people in that place don’t go back into turmoil…This doesn’t look good. I believe the hand of God be on that country.”
Status tracker: A wave xenophobia violence sprung up in South Africa, leaving dozens dead. Gangs wielding sticks, spears and shields, attacked foreigners especially Zimbabweans and Nigerians chanting and singing in Zulu: “Foreigners must go back to where they came from.” They looted and burned shops, attacked a mosque and killed people. South Africa keeps getting such attacks and this wave has happened in 2008 and 2015.
On the international scene
Mbonye’s favourite subject, mentioned Israel, Turkey
He said Jerusalem city would be attacked, and Turkey leadership would be in turmoil.
“Jerusalem city shall be under major attack more than before. I saw something like American troops there,” he said, adding that, “I saw the nation of Turkey. The Lord said, Turkey shall be a major focus. It shall be involved in the conflict outside it. The leadership of Turkey shall come under attack. Waves of change shall influence Turkey more than before.”
Status tracker: Turkey and Israel are always in the news. Nothing out of this world happened in either country.
China
The Ugandan preacher also foretold doom for China. He said the rising dragon was going to suffer recession that will prompt massive riots.
“I looked and saw the nation of China. I thought China was a nation on the rise. I perceived however a nation that is about to experience recession. People took to the streets and rioted against the current established. I said I don’t care about what is happening to China.”
Status tracker: China has had two fold challengers. US president Donald Trump has slapped sanctions on a number of good and services from China. Most significantly is Huawei, the Chinese tech giant whose 5G technology has been severely checked by US and its allies.
On the political front, Hong Kong, which is part of china but self manages itself, has been running riots for several weeks. Hong Kong people want independence from China and have taken to streets denouncing Chinese influence in its affairs. China says Western Countries were fueling these protests.
UK and Boris Johnson
And lastly, Mbonye prophesised that Boris Johnson would rise to United Kingdom premiership.
“I went to the UK. There is something I began to see. It was something new that was brewing…about the politics and leadership of that country. It turned out into something that is symbolic. I saw men and women running, and I could tell they were leaders of that country. Something new in that country was happening in that country. As they were running, one man was being cheered on. The name is Boris Johnson.”
Johnson is a former foreign secretary. He become prime minister this year, despite facing several political maneuvering challenges over his Brexit proposals.
Whereas Mbonye said, “By the way, he was being cheered on by people from different walks of life. Something like a coalition”. There aren’t many people cheering him. However, elections are due in UK which will see Boris confirm his job or lose it.
However, Mbonye had also said that UK was to suffer hacks into the banking sector which would upset the country before it spreads across the world. This is yet to be.
