Singing couple Geoffrey Lutaaya and Irene Namatovu are among the over 104,000 candidates sitting for their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations that started on Monday November 11, 2019.
Lutaaya and wife are the owners of a musical band known as Da Nu Eagles.
Lutaaya went back to school last year after almost 20 years he dropped out to pursue his music career.
He scored aggregate 62 in the 2018 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE). The music star’s best-done subject were English, a C5, followed by Biology in which he scored a C6. CRE is the only other subject in which he scored other than an F9, a P8, while he scored F9 in all the other five subjects.
Following her husband’s achievement, Namatovu, who has only a UCE certificate also stated that she was going back to school to pursue the UACE certificate.
The lovely couple is seating the exams in one of the schools in Luwero district.
Lutaaya decided to go back to school after expressing his interest in the Kakuto County parliamentary seat come 2021 general elections. UACE certificate is the minimum academic qualification for any legislative seat in Uganda.
