Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga of Christian Life Ministries is a very sad man. The pastor famed for lambasting other pastors for being ‘fake prophets’, this time round got a rude awakening when the faithful deserted him.
Pastor Ssenyonga got the biggest shock of his life when he advertised massively, calling people to attend his September 27 2019 prayer crusade at Namboole. Unfortunately, the believers refused to show up leaving the stadium almost empty.
The few people who showed up are the diehards including choirs, ushers, elders and workers at his Makerere-based church.
This website understands that Pastor Ssenyonga had a number of debts before the crusade but the creditors even doubled after the Namboole flop.
Apparently, creditors had been told that Pastor Ssenyonga pays off everyone owing him money as soon he finishes crusade, and the Namboole crusade was envisioned to bring in millions of shillings.
Unfortunately, the pastor did not get back even what he sowed into the campaign. However, to make a point, he got all the money he had on him and paid the stadium management booking for the next three years.
This incensed especially Pastor Aloysius Bugingo who usually uses the stadium in the week leading to Independence Day on October, 9. Bugingo says he always had a crusade on October 4 of every year as his independence prayer crusade for Uganda! He is now also unhappy that Ssenyonga has booked the stadium including his days.
“Does he think it is our day that forced the faithful to snub his crusade?” Bugingo asked during his Sunday summon at his church.
If one visited Ssenyonga’s church\office, one rarely fails to find creditors waiting around to meet the pastor -who transacts business himself.
These creditors say the pastor does not want to pay them because he keeps them waiting or just ignores them for months.
This was witnessed at his office this Monday, where hundreds of suppliers turned up to collect their money.
Unfortunately, Pastor Ssenyonga didn’t turn up. His assistants said the pastor was resting home after a hectic weekend.
However, insiders say he does not have money left since his crusade projections didn’t materialize.
The disappointed people were heard whispering to each other that the ‘man of gaad’ might not to pay them for a longer spell since the Namboole crusade left him broke and nursing wounds.
Ssenyonga’s workers are equally in tears since they are used to getting pay, after his crusades.
It is not clear why last Friday crusade was a flop. However, observers say Ssenyonga has fought too many pastors around Kampala and they worked equally hard to frustrate him.
Now we hear there are many pastors celebrating the humiliation and record set by Ssenyonga got – that one now having the least number of people at a crusade at Namboole stadium. Some wondered why he didn’t look for a football field around Makerere, Mulago or Bwaise to host his crusade to avoid the embarrassment.
The pastors celebrating Ssenyonga’s humiliation say, their colleague was humbled before the President before whom he wanted to make a statement that he was a serious minister with lots of followers.
To make matters worse, it was at this flopped crusade that the pastor also reported to President Museveni that churches of born again, were built on human skulls and police was doing nothing about it.
This Bugingo says was a rouse to distract the President from looking at the few people attending the crusade when he had been promised a big crowd.
Ssenyonga has been on the frontline for accusing pastors including Bugingo, Augustine Yiga, Kakande, Bro Ronnie of using black magic in their churches.
