Kadaga is still alive because of God’s Grace, says Oulanyah

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has said his boss Rebecca Kadaga is still alive because of God’s Grace.

Oulanyah made the revelation on Wednesday during a thanksgiving service for Speaker Kadaga at Parliament.

Kadaga fell sick on March 21, 2019, while returning from a 10-day hectic working tour to Morocco and the United States of America. According to Parliamentary statement, her sickness was attributed to “hectic work schedule, fatigue and jet lag” and was immediately admitted at Nakasero Hospital before being flown to Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi while in a very poor health condition.

She was discharged on April,13.

While addressing the gathering, Oulanyah said that God saved Kadaga because she still has a purpose to fulfill in Uganda.

“Madam Speaker, if your purpose was completed, you would not be celebrating with us here but would be with Him in Heaven. God saved your life because you still had a purpose to accomplish. You will have to discover that purpose; please don’t disappoint Him,” said Oulanyah.

“I didn’t believe her sickness when I had about it because a lot of false information was coming in until i visited her therefore we are here to thank God for protecting the Speaker and to celebrate true friendship because friendships cut barriers. If you can’t be a friend to others then you have a problem. We ought to be each other’s keeper. The best gift someone can give you is the gift of his friends. A circle of friends watches each other’s back,” he added.

Kadaga in her speech thanked his fellow legislators and religious leaders for praying for her. She also encouraged members to always show love to people while they are still alive.

“I want to ask that we build a strong foundation for God so that we can fulfill our motto; “For God and my country. I appreciate my friends and colleagues from the judiciary who have come to celebrate the gift of life with me, Thank you so much,I just want to remind us all that God is a faithful God.”

The retired Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Edward Muhima quoting Psalms 51:17, urged the gathering to repent so that they can be able to do what God requires them to do because it’s the proper way for everyone to give thanks to Him.
