A concerned party has tasked Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) to investigate the conduct or lack of it, of one of their own, Dr Hamza Sebunya.
Sebunya is artiste Rema Namakula’s new lover.
Late last month, news broke the internet that Rema had broken up with her long time baby daddy, artistes Edirisa Mususa commonly known as Eddie Kenzo. Before long, photos started circulating of the songbird with Hamuza carrying out Nikah, an Islamic contract of marriage.
It was apparently carried out six months ago when she was still sleeping with Kenzo in their plush Seguku house.
Like everyone else, Kenzo says he got to know through social media.
“I confronted her and she confirmed the rumours. This really made me sad and from that moment, I developed second thoughts about her commitment to me,” Kenzo told a local daily.
Now the Siri Muyembe singer is set to officially introduce the man, rumored to have been her doctor/gynecologist on November 1, 2019 at her parents’ home in Nabbingo, Butaka in Wakiso District.
This is probably what forced Sharif Sentongo Nambaale to ask AHPC – a body corporate established under Allied Health Professionals Act Cap. 268 to regulate, supervise and control the training and practice of allied health professionals in Uganda – to investigate Sebunya’s misconduct.
Titled ‘Professional and Ethical Misconduct’, and dated September 11, Nambaale, through his lawyers says “…during the subsistence of Edirisa Musuza aka Eddie Kenzo and Rema Namakula’s relationship, the person who was a doctor to Rema Namakula one Dr. Sebunya Hamza has contracted marriage with her which our client believes constitutes professional and ethical misconduct.”
He adds: “We have since advised our client that your body which is a creature of the statute has powers and mandate to inquire into and investigate the matter. Upon kind instructions of our client, we do hereby invite thy disciplinary committee to invoke its powers under Section 38 (1)(2) and (4) of the Allied Health Professional Act Cap. 268 of the laws of Uganda. Our client is available in case you need him for purposes of illuminations and availing more facts to enable you investigate the matter, take obligatory-action which shall culminate into the most appropriate panacea as by law envisaged.”
AHPC is yet to respond.
