Mukono journalist Mike Musisi-Musoke who on 13th August blew the 62nd candle in his life after having struggled for by-lines for 34 solid years, has called it quits and gone into farming.

Musisi who claims to have been the oldest practising journalist in greater Mukono (Mukono, Buikwe, Buvuma and Kayunga districts) up to resignation time, is known to have free lanced for a number of newspapers, radios and television stations.

The 6th of ten children of the late Justin George Musisi and the late Abisagi Ruth Nayiga Musisi of Nakabago village in Mukono Municipality, Musisi has set up a 2-acre mixed farm at Lwetunga village, Nakavule parish in Kapeeka sub-county, majoring in piggery.

In an interview, he told Watchdog that the two acres are only the starting point as he has plans to expanding to a wider space, funds allowing.

A father to five daughters and three sons, says he is a satisfied man, having seen most of his children graduate, married off, and some living and working abroad.

“And I am particularly happy that I am not leaving a vacuum as my youngest son Patrick Musisi, is a mass communication graduate from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU)”, the ageing scribe proudly said.

His wife Jennifer, an Early Child Development (ECD) tutor at YMCA Mukono branch, has as well discarded the chalk and followed her husband at their Nakaseke farm.
