Buikwe District Woman legislator Judith Babirye is seven months pregnant. Well, that shouldn’t be surprising seeing that she is legally married to fellow parliamentarian Paul Musoke, (Buikwe County North).
Babirye, famed for songs such as Nzijukira, Wambatila, Hossan, Omuliro among others, married Musoke in 2018, after ending her 10-year marriage to Pastor Samuel Niiwo.
It has however become evident that her new marriage is also failing, with reports emerging that the singer secretly fled the country for United States of America (USA) in April, after her husband allegedly threatened her life.
Our impeccable sources say Babirye had to dash to police several times at night to report her husband for wanting to kill her on top of fears that she ‘could be a victim of ritual sacrifice from the man she committed to’.
To make matters worse, it is reported that her co-wives are posing a threat to her life too, thus making her marriage almost impossible.
One of those that warned Babirye off Musoke was Lukia Ntale who claimed that she can’t let the father of her three children hook up with a new woman after their 10 years of marriage.
“I have been seeing you with my husband knowing you were just friends. When you came for the burial of my father, I saw you asking for my eldest child. The man you want to introduce is married. I am his wife and we have three children. You are a mother, a woman like me and a Born-again, I warn you to leave my husband alone,” Ntale warned last year.
Given all the circumstances around her life, Babirye chose the option of saving her unborn baby by fleeing the country and Parliament and now plans to give birth in the States for her baby to easily receive USA permanent citizenship.
Our sources have also intimated that Babirye is currently living with fellow gospel singer only known as Ivan Kamoga, who is helping her with maternity issues as well as with getting papers to request for asylum to keep away from her husband and co-wives.
