The story of Henry Ssuubi Kiyimba, who has been a victim of cyber-bullying for carrying a metallic suitcase to University as a first-year student, has touched people’s hearts who have since last week been pledging to give a helping hand to him.
Ssuubi is offering Bachelor of Science in education and Economics at Makerere University Kampala on Government Sponsorship.
What started as scorn when a one Emmanuel Aupal, posted a picture of Ssuubi on twitter, mocking him for deceptively carrying what he described as a high school box, is day by day opening doors for him.
From meeting prominent figures in the country to receiving items like a laptop, clothes, a smartphone among others, indeed there’s light at the end of the tunnel for Ssuubi.
And for your information, the undergraduate is now a public figure and to justify this;-you need permission from the University management to have a meet and greet with him.
Currently, a good number of journalists have been blocked from interacting with him.
“Many journalists have been here since morning to see Ssuubi but they have been blocked by the university management. They were told to first seek for permission from the office of the Vice Chancellor,” a one Sam, a student at Makerere University told Watchdog Uganda.
