Singer Winifred Nakanwagi alias Winnie Nwagi has apologised for her conduct following her erotic dance moves with students of St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) recently.
The singer was recently summoned to appear before the Anti-Pornographic committee, to discuss that viral video were she was seen dressed indecently, and dancing erotically with under aged children.
And after that meeting, through a notice dated July 22, Nwagi accepted her mistakes and apologized for her misconduct.
“I hereby acknowledge that my representation through indecent and erotic dance during the show that happened on July 13, at St Mary’s College-Kisubi was pornographic and contravened the provisions of the Anti-Pornographic Act, 2014,” she noted.
She further promised to never engage in any show that involves pornographic activities, which are prohibited under the law.
“I therefore undertake to refrain from any pornographic shows as prohibited under the law, failure of which will result into further action being taken against me, up to and including prosecution or imprisonment,” she noted.
Nwagi’s apology came shortly after her management, Swangz Avenue, claiming that they have put measures in place to make sure that such conduct is not repeated.
“We deeply regret the inappropriate performance by Winnie Nwagi at St Mary’s College Kisubi on July 13th. We have investigated the incident and measures have been put in place to avoid a repeat of the same. This was a huge error in judgment and both the Artiste and the management team acknowledge the pain and mistrust caused by this incident. We apologize to the general public, parents of the students in attendance and the school administration.”
