President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Hajj Abdu Kiyimba, the Kyengera Town Council Mayor on the team spearheading the Wealth Creation campaign in Buganda region.
Hajj Kiyimba who also serves as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairperson for Wakiso District will now deputise Habib Seruwagi who is the campaign coordinator in the region.
He replaces Patrick Nakabaale who was transferred to the Office of the NRM National Chairman in Kyambogo, Kampala.
Confirming Kiyimba’s appointment on Monday, Seruwagi said the President decided to assign the ruling party cadre because he is dependable, self motivated with a strong work ethic.
He added that they are going to use Kiyimba’s expertise and experience in leadership to fulfill President Museveni’s expectations in developing the people of Buganda.
On his part , Kiyimba promised to work around the clock to ensure the campaign goals are achieved.
