Rubaga South Legislator Kato Lubwama has hit back at critics saying he was indeed endorsed to take on the position of People Power chairperson, Buganda Region.
According to Lubwama, he has been secretly preparing for this position in the pressure group led by the Kyadondo East Legislator Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, and that soon people will know that he wasn’t joking.
“In the coming days, you’ll get to know it’s not a joke. There’s a lot I’m cooking after I was entrusted with the position of Chairman People Power Buganda Region. Among the people who have endorsed me include Hon Muhamad Nsereko, Mubarak Munyagwa, Moses Kasibante and many more. And you?” he asked.
He was responding to a tweet from People Power’s spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi, who joined other tweeps in questioning Lubwama where he got this title, given that no official statement was issued from this pressure group.
“People Power chairperson Buganda region???? For more of such jokes, dial *999#,” Ssenyonyi said.
But Lubwama has mocked Ssenyonyi’s statement claiming that, unlike him (Ssenyonyi), he was endorsed by leaders with a reasonable number of voters.
“They are leaders with a reasonable number of voters. How many does Ssenyonyi have?” Lubwama asked.
According to tweeps, the leaders who endorsed Lubwama are not among the known People Power leaders, and they also questioned on why he was just given a position without elections.
