Rajiv Ruparelia has revealed that he was never raised as a wealthiest man’s son.
Rajiv is a son of Uganda’s richest man Dr Sudhir Ruparelia.
The Managing Director of Ruparelia Group made the shocking revelation during ‘The Cedric Live show’ interview on UBC TV recently.
Rajiv said while growing up they did not know what they really had because they were never cherished that much.
“Growing up we didn’t know what we really had. Yes we could recognise sometimes that we were being treated a bit differently with a few extra privileges here and there. The good thing we had probably were better toys that’s when we established that somewhat our dad was wealthier than other people but that did not stop us from sharing what we had,” he said.
Rajiv also disclosed that his family never woke up one day and became rich but it has toiled for its success.
“What is important is where we came from. I don’t think people really know the house we lived in prior to the fancy house that everyone knows today, I don’t know people know that we used to have leaks in our own house; we used to have buckets to collect water. We used to live on Buganda Road where the arts and museum is located now. We used to have a two bedroom house there.
“Like I said we did not have all what we have today. I was born in 1990 and I can actually remember some flashes of our lives living on Buganda Road and even till when we left in 1993,” the youthful businessman asserted.
